An interview with Wes Davies, the Managing Director of Simply Classics providing a general over view of The Great NZ Classics Car Search
Simply Classics Limited has formed a Charitable Trust, named the ‘Simply Classics Charitable Trust’. Its initial task is to find and restore two very special classic cars in New Zealand, one in the North Island and one in the South Island. The fully restored cars will then be offered for sale on our World Wide Web site and sold, with the profits going to our two nominated trust beneficiaries: Ronald McDonald House and CanTeen.
The car selection criteria are:
• |
They must be viable for restoration and upon completion estimated to have a value that exceeds purchase and restoration costs. |
• |
The Simply Classics Charitable Trust will be collaborating with Simply Classics advertising customers on the simplyclassics.co.nz site, who will complete the various trades and parts supplies for the two restorations. |
• |
The restorations will be reported regularly on our web site with video recordings and commentary, from the selection process, and then from start to finish of the restorations. |
• |
Following a national display of the finished vehicles, there will then be the donation of the profits to the two nominated trust beneficiaries. |
We are asking for nominations from you and your club members, or anyone else you know of who might know of such a vehicle to nominate. You, or they, can then send the nomination through the web site with the vehicle description, photographs and asking price. A team of experts will then evaluate the nominations and make the two selections.
A four-month search deadline has been set to find the vehicles so please put the word out and get the nominations into www.simplyclassics.co.nz. Be a part of this very exciting project and see what a united group of like-minded people can do for these two special charities.
